I would agree with you IF Dr. Laura were in any other profession but the one she chose, that of family and relationship issues.

In Doctor Laura's professional world, It's ALL about family, mother, daughter/son, committment, etc. That's what Dr. Laura is about 100%.

Dr. Laura has got to be worth at least 50-100 million dollars (just guessing). So one must assume she was paying for her mothers home in Beverly Hills. (again, just an assumption on my part) I just wonder if Dr. Laura's past, when she was a normal women, (the kind of women Dr. Laura now disdains!), is so intertwined with her mother, that Dr. Laura actually did not want her own mother anywhere near the limelight.

Can you imagine Dr. Laura's mom being interviewed by the media! There's probably not a thing Dr. Laura's mom could say about Dr. Laura's past that would jive with Dr. Laura's present state of daily advice that she doles out and gets paid handsomely to dole out.

Everything Dr. Laura stands for now, is in direct opposition to what she stood for 20 -30 years ago. Mom must have taken many controversial secrets to the grave.

I just don't find it "healthy" to be on the radio telling others how to live when you could not find even a modicum of peace with your own mother, OR at least to periodically attempt to connect with mom, even if the attempt failed every time.
